Best City Breaks – Part 1 Budapest

Hurrah we got through the first month of the new year. The first one is always the hardest.

As the January blues are still creeping around, the one thing that’s sure fire to keep us all happy and getting excited in 2016 is booking a holiday. It gives us something to look forward too and something to aim towards.
To help you pick your next destination we’ve complied a list our our favourite cities, which we will talk about in a 5 part series.
First up this week….

Back in June 2013 I took a trip to Budapest with my beautiful mother. We spent a fantastic four days in the sheering sun & also flash floods.. I mean the river Danube bursts it’s banks, but even that couldn’t spoil our exploring.

This city is full of charm. Things I’d recommend doing for sure is to check out the panoramic views from Buda castle. Take a stroll across the chain bridge. Chill out in the park at Hero’s square.

Another recommendation is to check out the Central Market Hall where the locals buy all their fresh produce, and from there, there are endless options of restaurants to try out some Hungarian cuisine. The food and wine is incredible and cheap too.

In Budapest they accept both Hungarian Forint & Euro, but I would recommend changing to Forint, I found I got more for my money.

I wasn’t lucky enough to enjoy the thermal baths but I heard they are great and can be quite relaxing too.

And you’ll never know what you’ll find if you take a stroll down some courtyards or take shelter from the sun at an outdoor cafe in a shaded cobbled avenues.

This is definitely a city I can’t wait to get back to. Have you ever been there??
